Welcome to Wrightsville Beach and welcome to Mason's Cottage! This classic, 5 bedroom 5 bath home is located on the ocean front of the exclusive south end of Wrightsville Beach. From the ground floor, there are 2 bedrooms that each have their own exterior entrances and private baths. The first ground floor bedroom has a queen bed and a day bed (2 twins), while the 2nd ground floor bedroom has 2 twin beds making each of these rooms perfect for the kids. Head up the stairs and enter the main level of the property. To your right, head down the hall and find the master bedroom with king bed. Also located off the hall are 2 more guest rooms, each with 2 full beds, and 2 full baths. For meals and gathering, step to the east side of the home. The kitchen easily flows to the dining and living areas. The dining and living areas are an open floor plan with lots of windows looking over the deck and the ocean. Step outside onto the large, 2 level deck that has plenty of room for relaxing and enjoying the ocean views. For the best view, head up the stairs to the "sippin' porch" for the beautiful sunrises or evening cocktails. The beach is just a few steps down the private beach access path. Superb Location 2026-05-27

We absolutely loved the location of the Mason Cottage at the south end of Wrightsville Beach. Upstairs is quaint and cozy and the views are spectacular from the nest. Accessibility to the beach is also a huge plus. Our group of teens didn't mind the garage apartment downstairs, but we probably wouldn't consider the adjacent room on the lower level as comfortable living space on our next visit. Overall, Mason Cottage was perfect for our long weekend.

We love this cottage. the new living room furniture is old people can get out of it! The cottage was much cleaner this year, smelled so fresh.
Would still like a TV in the master, so we dont have to share with the kids. Already booked for next year!

Cozy Cottage on the Beach 2025-06-30

Mason Cottage is a super clean and comfortable "vintage" cottage on the ocean. The location is perfect. The cottage had plenty of space for our family of 6. One thing to note is that 3 of the bedrooms (including the master) are on the 2nd, main floor. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor with separate entrances to each. The ground floor bedrooms feel more like basement/garage apartments separate from the rest of the home. Our older son stayed in one of the bedrooms. However, if I had younger children, I would not be comfortable having them stay in these bedrooms isolated from the rest of the family. Throughout the cottage, the beds were on the hard side which may be appealing to some but were not comfortable for us. As far as amenities go, beach towels, beach chairs and bikes were not provided so we had to bring our own (rented a bike). The kitchen was nicely stocked. Bed linens are provided but we had to make up all of the beds on arrival which was a different experience for us compared to prior rentals over the years. Overall, we found the cottage charming and well maintained and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

WE WERE IN THE MASON HOUSE DURING DEBBIE. WE WERE RAINED FOR PART OF THE TIME OVER 3 DAYS. THE TV SERVICE WAS GREAT AND PROVIDED MANY OPTIONS FOR VIEWING. THE HOUSE WAS GREAT ACCOMADATION FOR GOING TO THE BEACH AND ACCESS TO WILMINGTON WAS EASY. WE ATE AT PADDY’S HOLLOW, AN IRISH PUB, AND THE OCEANIC NEARBY. BOTH WERE ENJOYABLE. THE MASON HOUSE WAS PROVIDED EVERYTHING WE NEEDED AND THE STAY WAS VERY ENJOYABLE. STAFF WERE ATTENTIVE AND RESPONSIVE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We had such a great time at the house - it is right on the beach and had a large deck for entertaining. The bedrooms are not all together which allowed for us to have separate space within the house. The rental agency was easy to work with and helpful with any questions about the area. Would definitely recommend and come back again

The Mason cottage provided all of the necessary amenities, plenty of towels, blankets, and kitchen supplies. We love the outside decking areas everything was very family oriented. We had to clean out some areas that Food was drawing ants and then had to deal with ants in the kitchen I would suggest having bins to put food in and storage bags to prevent the ant situation from starting

This was our 9th year renting the Mason Cottage. It is the PERFECT location for a great family vacation! Always comfortable and clean! We rise early each morning for the beautiful sunrises. South End surf shop and Sundays (coffee, smoothies, etc.) is a short walk from the house. Harris Teeter, The Workshop (coffee, breakfast sandwiches), and Tower 7 (best tacos and margaritas) are all close too! We hope to be back here again next year!!

Mason cottage was disappointing. The ants and roaches were awful. Food was found under several pieces of furniture in living. We basically moved everything and vacuumed up ants, food, sand. A dirty diaper was found in a dresser. Bathrooms need a upgrade. Mold in the grout. Old seats need replacing. A coat of paint wouldn’t hurt.

This was our 4th year staying at the Mason Cottage and we already booked for next year. It would be great if the 3 twin beds downstairs could get new mattresses and the AC improved down there. Hopefully with the kitchen remodel a bigger fridge will be put in. We love the location. We love the cottage. One of the few vintage cottages left on the beach. The manager was great taking care of our needs.

We loved the home and the location. The beach access was great. The bathrooms and bedrooms were spacious and clean. The gas grill needs to be replaced as it is rusting out the bottom. My only disappointment was that there was no soap in most of the bathrooms and no beach towels or beach chairs were available. It has been our experience with other rental agencies that these items are provided. It would be easier to provide a combination lockbox or locks for the door instead of having to go to the rental agency to pick up the keys.

This is the second year we rented this cottage and have reserved again next year. Not fancy, but homey. We love the location and short walk to the jetty to gather shells. Lifeguard stand a plus at the end of beach path.

This cottage is very comfortable and accommodating. The people who clean need to move the furniture occasionally and sweep under it. Hardwood floors need a canister vac instead of an upright. We would rent this cottage again.

Great Family Vacation 2017-07-31

It was wonderful being so close to a beautiful, in crowded beach! Having a lifeguard station right there gave us confidence. Some in our party had never seen an ocean before. They fell in love. The cottage was very cute. Better than the pictures showed. Kitchen is tight if there are more than 2 at a time. All that was needed for cooking full meals was available. The large washer and dryer were very helpful. The only disappointment was the lower level bedrooms. The description stated that they each had outside exits. It did not state that that was the only access. They are not connected to the upstairs at all. Neither are they connected to each other. We had planned on putting a 6,8, 11 and 14 year old there. There was no way that these children would have been able to be so separated from their parents. So we had to do some rearranging. It would be ideal for young adults. Everyone was a good sport about it, but I do think that should be clearer in the description. Overall we were very pleased!

This house was just what we were looking for. It isn't fancy like some of the newer houses but it is charming with lots of places to lay your head and an AMAZING deck with lovely views. You could walk out on the beach and in a few moments be at the bird sanctuary on the tip of the island where the ocean and the inlet meet. The house is well managed and we had everything we needed there.

It was a great location! The house had nice flow but needs alot of updating.the floors are very squeaky causing us to wake up the people sleeping downstairs. Needs fresh paint and new beds. The downstairs bedrooms need tlc too.
I like the many bedrooms and bathrooms and easy access to the beach. The rental company was wonderful and easy to work with.
I would stay again but would like to see some improvements for the price paid.

This is a perfect property for a reunion of friends. Don't at all be fooled by the house's size - it can easily accommodate a group of ten. I would absolutely stay here again. Wrightsville Sands was very easy to deal with, and were very communicative via email. Definitely recommend.

Mason Cottage was perfect for our family get together for Thanksgiving 2015. Everything needed was right there....favorite part was getting up in the morning to the sun rising over the water, watching from the spacious deck. And then at night looking at moons reflection on the water.

This house was perfect for seven couples! Only 2 rooms had to be shared. The downstairs felt a little dampish, but we have been having lots of rain. My only disapointment was the distance to the beach.. We have a different idea of oceanfront. The price was good and the home was clean, and the weather could not have better!

The house was nice. The house was cool and a great escape from the heat. Great view of the ocean and sitting on the deck in the evenings was wonderful. Had plenty of room for all.
Did not cook much, but the kitchen seemed a bit small. All in all I would rent this property again.

Pretty Good Beach house 2015-05-29

We really liked this place, but to be as helpful as possible I will give all the details.

Pros:
The upstairs rooms are great; the deck, views and access to the beach are fantastic, comes with Netflix, a gas grill, plenty of kitchen appliances, plenty of living space, and lots of bathrooms and showers

Cons:
Kitchen was a little on the small side, but had plenty of burners for the stove, just a smallish oven.
Downstairs bedrooms are what you expect from 1st floor beach house bedrooms. They were a little stale and had a few bugs (ants, and spiders), but not a ton just what you would expect from a ground floor room. The showers down there are a little rough too. The floors make a ton of noise so if you are a very light sleeper the ground floor might not be the best for you. For my group is wasn't as issue at all we just put the guys downstairs and had no complaints.

Overall we loved this house and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Great location. Nice decks. Great views.
The down stairs bedrooms are a bit dank and I wouldn't put small kids there as it is only accessed from the outside. Only has twin beds so awkward for couples. Ok for teenagers/young adults.
